Quantum computing is an emerging field that combines principles from quantum mechanics, computer science, and information theory to develop a new type of computer. Unlike classical computers that use bits to represent information as 0s or 1s, quantum computers use quantum bits or qubits that can represent both 0 and 1 simultaneously. Quantum computers can perform certain tasks much faster than classical computers, such as searching large databases or factoring large numbers, which are fundamental problems in cryptography. This is because quantum computers can take advantage of a phenomenon called quantum entanglement, which allows them to process multiple inputs at the same time, and quantum superposition, which allows them to explore many different possible solutions simultaneously.
